CREATIVE
TEAMS
Creative teams are fundamental in developing a brand strategy and every marketing initiative. Yet, they are often relegated to mundane tasks, and the mere execution of others' ideas.
The reason for this is often multifactorial, and can be attributed to one or more of the following:
-
Lack of a corporate creative culture
-
Lack of branding efforts, usually coupled with a tunneled focus on product/service.
-
A standard, mechanized approach to the market, generally focused on outdated strategies and formats.
-
The absence of well-structured creative processes, documentation, and source folders.
-
No clear brand or corporate positioning.
-
The absence of creative champions who can raise the importance of their craft to the company's strategy.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU:
I have led and trained diverse creative teams, especially across the SaaS (Software-as-a-service) industry. This has given me insight and knowledge on how these teams usually operate, and how they can be improved, optimized, and eventually drive significant marketing initiatives.
I. TRAINING
On many occasions, creative professionals are simply not good enough. Either they lack the experience or don't have the opportunity to showcase their skills.
In either case, it is essential to offer guidance to get the most out of your creatives. This may come in the shape of hard skills training, career coaching, aspirations, or even lessons on presenting creative ideas.
II. CREATIVE PROCESSES
Many creative teams lack a well-structured creative process. This will often create rushed, low-quality, and poorly strategized projects, greatly diminishing the ROI of your teams.
Establishing strong briefing processes, a prioritization system, and determining clear goals and outcomes for the team, with realistic timelines and a consistent, predictable flow of work.
III. ORGANIZATION
Creative professionals have a bad reputation for being messy and disorganized. This is somewhat true, but it isn't necessarily their fault. Most of the time, creative professionals are rushed into high-speed production schedules (sometimes due to the lack of organization in other teams).
Going beyond creative processes. keeping your project files organized is the best way to improve efficiency. Not only does it make it easier to find and share your files, but also gives the team more flexibility, as one member can easily pick another's work on a whim (also valid for external contractors).
